Perou - Dirty Sexy Things
Perou is a photographer that last year made the programme 'Dirty sexy things' for Channel 4, he is a well known fashion photographer and the programme was a fantastic look in to his hectic life. These two photographs are my favourites from the entire show the colours are striking and would stand out in any magazine.

Photographers Gallery - The World In London

CHAD - Noh Ali Abakar Hassan
Photographer: Kate Peters
I came to London as a refugee and lived in Hackney. My first memory of coming here is seeing Trafalgar Square. I like to go out on the weekends and I think I'm the kind of person who likes to live amongst many different cultures. I've made a lot of friends and like London, and my new life here, very much
The colour contrast in this is brilliant the man really stands out against all the greenery. Its also a very typical British wood and to have him standing there its looks alien to him compared to his native landscape.

COOK ISLANDS - India Dane Ngatama May
Photographer: Charlotte Player
"My Dad built our house, and it was one room, with a showeroom with no roof, and a toilet that was joined onto the house, but sort of outside, and then as I grew up the house slowly got extended."
The focus in this is very odd as her arm is the sharpest in the image, however her face isnt completely out of focus so it just looks as though she has moved which gives a nice effect.

CENTRAL AFRICAN REPUBLIC - Catherine Teya
Photographer: Anastasia Taylor-Lind
"Because I'm very busy I don't really have the time to enjoy myself very much and I don't go out so much, but what I like really is just the freedom – London is so big and you can do so many things."
The still woman infront of the moving bus creates a fantastic image as it create a definte seperation of the background to the foreground. As well as the this the double decker bus resembles London relating back to the website.

FRANCE - Jessy Burrow
Photographer: Hayley Louisa Brown
"The only place you can study fashion is in London because there are so many opportunities for working with disigners, little projects, photographers..."
The collage of images works very well her showing the woman from many different points of view it looks like a fashion spread from a magazine. Mainly I like the editinf as it gives a very vintage effect wit hthe smokey fading pages and foggy images.

Fine Art - Day 2
We got more practical on the second day of fine art and began to use many materials to make print the shapes of objects on to paper, we also used projectors to be able to colour in shadows.
Fine Art - Day 1
In the introduction to Fine Art we began to look a metaphors and the potential behind them to communicate ideas.

We looked at a Pirelli tyres advertisement and the metaphor is that despite the guy obviously being an athlete he is wearing heels which are completely the wrong shoes to run in therefore he has the power, but there is no control.
3s'
- Semantics
- Sensations
- Structure
These are the things you need to consider when analyzing metaphors behind art work.

In groups we used the 3s' to work out metaphors with artists work. We looked at a piece called 'ghost' by Rachel Whiteread, on first glace I thought it was a bit dull until we began to think harder at the meaning. We came up with the feeling of being on the outside looking in and that the mould of the room is something you can't see buts always there.
Vanitas - A still life in which the object refers to death

Using music we looked at lyrics to find metaphors.
Love the way you lie - Eminem feat. Rihanna
'Maybe thats what happens when a tornado meets a volcano, all I know if that I love you too much to walk away though'
Waterfalls - TLC
'Don't go chasing waterfalls please stick to the rivers and the lakes that your used too'
Stop Crying your heart out - Oasis
'Your destiny may keep you warm'
Born to Die - Lana del Rey
'Lost but now I am found, I can see but once I was blind'
We then chose one idea and experimented by putting ideas together on paper.
